The South Winnipeg Garden Club (SWGC) is located along the Red River adjacent to St. Amant Centre in St. Vital.  The gardens were originally started by the Grey Nuns to supply fresh vegetables to the residents at St.Amant in approximately 1931. It is the largest garden in Winnipeg at over 3.2 acres divided into 111 garden plots.  We currently have approximately 170 members and we a governed by a volunteer board of directors.

The South Winnipeg Garden Club has existed since 2004 in this location.  The garden plots are irrigated, using water from the nearby Red River,has a storage shed, water tanks and compost facilities.  We are totally reliant on the work of volunteers and the cooperation of the gardeners to keep this garden in operation.
